SINGLE AND LOOKING- FOR A HOME
Studies show that women are more financially and socially independent than ever before, and that more than half of all adult women live without a partner. And for more and more of these single women, it's house before spouse. According to NAR's 2007 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, relased in November at the annual Realtors Conference and Expo, one-fourth of all recent home buyers were single women. Single women also represent 20 percent of all home buyers. In contrast, the percentage of single men buying homes is decreasing. With more choices for investing and saving, many women are choosing homeownership as a way of building wealth over the long term.

Christmas Caroling in Three Rivers
Sipping hot coffee, making smores, indulging in homemade cookies, visiting with neighbors and singing Christmas carols were highlights of this event. Townspeople gathered at the Merchantile to enjoy the festive community event and Santa even arrived on a firetruck!

WINTER IN THE SIERRA'S- COME VISIT!

A blanket of snow covers the High Sierra above Three Rivers. Here are Giant Sequoias at the Natural History Museum up in the Park.
It is breathtaking to drive through the Park and experience this pristine winter wonderland. It is so quiet you can hear the snow melt.
The sky is blue, the Giant Sequoias are a unique auburn color and chartreuse moss adds a vibrant green to the landscape. These colors against the white snow is beautiful. If you have not been to Sequoia National Park, you should check out this national treasure.
You will need chains to drive up into the park in the winter. Chains can be rented at the Chevron Station in Three Rivers.

Come see for yourself!

It's Raining in Three Rivers
Last night we had a progressive dinner over on Kaweah River Drive and it rained! It was such a festive atmosphere with all the Christmas decorations and the thrill of a much needed rainstorm. This morning our rain gague showed just under 2" of rain and it has continued to rain off and on all day. We have had about 5" of rain so far this winter.
This morning the rivers were running strong with the new rainfall and the moss is a vibrant chartreuse on the rocks. I just love Three Rivers in the rain.

I stumbled upon this cool little light fixture on Charlesandmarie.com and thought it was perfect for GreenBasers.Basically, it works just like a solar-powered garden light, but sits inside on your windowsill. Perfect for cold winter nights and a great substitute for those plug-in electric candles people put in their windows this time of year. Another cool TeamDiana.com idea to brighten your life!

Just a little update on Three Rivers. Recently the air has been crisp, with fall leaves brightening our surroundings and the Sierras as our backdrop. Today as I look out the window of my office, I am in awe of the glorious rain that we are experiencing. The town is alive with holiday cheer. The local fire department is once again selling Christmas trees. They even delivered mine to my home for me this year because they did not want to scratch the top of my car! Where else but in a small town could one receive such service? The local ladies group just delivered cookies to our office in thanks for all that we do for the community. On Sunday, the town will gather together to sing Christmas carols, enjoy hot chocolate and each other’s company. I have acquired Christmas ornaments to pass out to all townspeople who attend. It is going to be so much fun!
