Cowboys in Three Rivers

Today's quote from my friend Elizabeth:
"I was driving down our road today and saw a beautiful picture. There was one of my neighbors, a true cowboy in every sense of the word, sitting on his horse, mud on his boots, cowboy hat low over his eyes, the sun was breaking through the clouds behind him, cattle all around him in the wet field - AND he was talking on his cell phone."

Now didn't you just have a great fantasy image in your mind... until that last part?

Forgot My Camera

As my husband and I were driving up South Fork to check on one of his construction jobs, we noticed something on the side of the road. It looked a bit like a dog from a distance. As we approached in our car, it was clear what we were looking at. It was a brown, curly tailed wild pig. We glanced in the field across the road and saw this brown, curly tailed pig's extended family. There were at least 20 pigs of all sizes and colors. The largest looked to be around 200 pounds and the smallest was probably around 30 pounds. Wish my camera was with me!

SnaP, CraCkle, PoP

As I sit at my office desk I can not avoid multiple yawns. The last few nights I have been awakened by the sound of large branches snapping off of the tree outside my bedroom window. Apparently, Mr. Bear thinks this tree is a great midnight hang out spot.
My lovely 30 ft. tall tree is now bare in the midsection. In my opinion though, the lack of sleep and damaged tree are fine trade offs for the opportunity to live in Three Rivers. The thrill of wildlife surrounding us never gets old. We are blessed!

You Could Win....

This 5 foot tall teddy bear is Team Diana's donation to the annual Three Rivers Union School carnival. Three Rivers School has a fabulous reputation. A parent has the freedom to be as involved as they like. One can volunteer in the classroom, share ones knowledge and skills, even have lunch once in a while at school with your students! We are blessed to live in a small town with so much community involvement.
